Orrville Settles for Split in Series With Triway

ORRVILLE SETTLES FOR SPLIT IN SERIES WITH TRIWAY

The PAC-7 rivalry series continued today on the banks of the Shreve Swamp. Orrville took the short trip west on route 30 to Triway for game 2 of a series between two very good teams. Despite being outhit by the Riders, Triway came out on top today, handing Orrville their 1st loss of the season by taking a 6-2 decision. Orrville had its chances throughout the game, and fought back bit by bit after a 4 run 1st inning by Triway. The Red Riders began their climb back into the game with a strong top of the 3rd inning, with Kellen Wayt and Cameron Kraft reaching on singles, before being brought in by Jacob Ott and Hunter Adkins, giving the Red Riders life heading into the middle innings. Orrville’s rally attempts would fall short in the top of the 4th and 6th, as the Red Riders were unable to convert with runners on base. Despite the loss, Orrville sits at 7-1, with a 3-1 PAC record, and as the old quote goes, “after all, tomorrow is another day!”. The Mounties of Mapleton will head to Brenneman Field on Friday for a 5pm date with the Riders, before Orrville heads to Thurman Munson Stadium on Saturday for a clash with the Bulldogs of Canton McKinley in what should be a treat of a ballgame. The game vs the “Pups” will begin earlier than usual @ 10am, so plan ahead!
