ORRVILLE FALLS IN WEDNESDAY NIGHT ACTION, MULTIPLE VARSITY DEBUTS MADE

Wednesday was another chance for the Orrville Red Rider baseball team to compete, and the final PAC-7 game of the season. Orrville wrapped up any loose ends in their pursuit of the PAC-7 championship this past Monday, so tonight’s game vs. Tuslaw was a great chance to give some opportunities to numerous members of the team. Despite the loss, Orrville put up a solid fight, and saw numerous members of the roster who will be returning next season continue growth, while some others made their varsity debuts. Juniors Alex Smith and Case McDaniel led the way offensively for the Red Riders, with Alex collecting 2 hits and an RBI, while McDaniel collected an RBI on a walk, while also hitting a double in the 3rd inning. Tonight was a memorable one for both Parker Ray, and Logun Gochnauer, as both sophomores made their varsity debuts during the contest. Parker is a versatile player who excels at numerous positions (outfield, infield, catcher, and pitcher), and got a chance to debut as a pinch runner today. Logun debuted in a pinch hitter role in the bottom of the 5th inning, and reached after being hit by a pitch. Talk about a welcome to the show moment! Logun is a solid second baseman who also excels on the football team in the fall. Parker and Logun have great careers ahead of them for numerous athletic programs here at OHS. Orrville will return to action Friday for what will be senior night, as the Red Riders take on Dalton at Brenneman Field.
