SENIOR NIGHT ENDS IN 7-5 VICTORY OVER DALTON

This senior class has grown a great deal over their 4 years in the baseball program, and tonight’s effort was a great example of that growth. Last season, Orrville was riding high as winners of 7 out of 8 before heading over to Dalton, and suffering a frustrating loss. The team left opportunities on the field, and felt like they let one get away from them. 364 days later, Orrville took on a red hot Dalton Bulldog squad that refused to go away, but was a far different squad than last years, and that change has of course been led by this senior class. Tonight, seniors Hunter Adkins and Caeleb Snyder, both pitchers in last year’s Dalton game, had to battle. Both worked out of multiple precarious situations and combined for a 7 inning outing that was enough to get Orrville a hard earned W. Hunter shined at the plate as well, going 2-3 including a massive 2 run double that put the game permanently out of reach. Senior Brendon Boss was excellent in the field, gobbling up numerous ground balls that came his way, while seniors Cameron Kraft and Kellen Wayt were excellent in the field and up to bat. Caleb Carter played very well in the lead off spot today, going 2-4 with an RBI, while Blake O’Quinn held down right field well giving his pitchers peace of mind, while also doing a job at the plate with some impressive bunting skills. A great win for the team, and thanks to our seniors for all of their hard work that helped our program grow and develop.
